Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

¾ cup milk

1 pound breakfast sausage

2 tablespoons flour (for gravy)

2 cups milk (for gravy)

Salt and pepper to taste

½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Make the Biscuit Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Add in the cold butter and mix using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add the milk, mixing until a dough forms.

Roll Dough: Lightly flour a surface and roll out the biscuit dough to about ½ inch thick. Cut out circles using a biscuit cutter or a glass (about 3 inches in diameter).

Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Sprinkle the 2 tablespoons of flour over the sausage and combine. Gradually mix in 2 cups of milk and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until thickened. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.

Fill the Bombs: Place a tablespoon of the sausage gravy in the center of each biscuit circle. Fold the dough over the filling to create a ball, sealing the edges tightly.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the filled biscuit bombs seam-side down on a greased baking sheet.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.

Serve: Let them cool slightly before serving. Drizzle additional gravy on top if desired.
