Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 cup ricotta cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

2 cups marinara sauce

Fresh basil, for garnish

Olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until just combined; do not overmix.

Preheat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil to the pan.

Wet your hands and form the meat mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs (about 2 inches in diameter). Carefully add the meatballs to the skillet, ensuring they are spaced apart to avoid sticking.

Sear the meatballs for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. You may need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding the skillet.

Once all the meatballs are browned, return all meatballs to the skillet. Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs, covering them completely.

Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet. Let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for 15-20 minutes, until cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F).

Once cooked, remove from heat, and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

                Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 4

                  - Serving Suggestions: Serve the skillet ricotta meatballs over spaghetti, zucchini noodles, or alongside crusty bread for mopping up the sauce. For a fun presentation, sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese and more fresh basil on top just before serving.
