1/2 cup milk, warmed to 110°F (43°C)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for filling)

1 cup fresh strawberries, diced

1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing)

1/4 cup additional powdered sugar (for drizzling)

Instructions
 

Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

    Make Dough: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour in the yeast mixture and stir until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

      First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

        Prepare Filling: While the dough rises, mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, diced strawberries, and lemon zest in a bowl until well combined.

          Roll Out Dough: Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

            Spread Filling: Evenly spread the strawberry cheesecake filling over the rolled-out dough.

              Form Rolls: Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Pinch the seams to seal and slice into 12 equal pieces.
