Ingredients

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

1 cup milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy)

1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder

1/4 cup hot water (not boiling)

Ice cubes (optional for iced version)

Whipped cream (optional for topping)

Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries and honey (or maple syrup). Blend until smooth and creamy, then set aside.

In a small bowl, whisk the matcha green tea powder with hot water until fully dissolved and there are no lumps. This can also be done using a frother.

In a separate saucepan, gently heat the milk over low to medium heat until warm (do not boil). If you prefer a cold latte, skip this step and use cold milk instead.

If you've heated the milk, froth it using a frother or whisk to create some light froth. If you're making an iced latte, prepare a glass with ice cubes.

Layer the bottom of your glass with the strawberry puree, then pour the warm frothy milk over the top. For an iced version, simply pour the cold milk over the strawberry puree and ice.

Finally, gently pour the matcha mixture over the milk. Use a spoon to swirl together if desired for an ombré effect.

Top with whipped cream and a drizzle of remaining strawberry puree if you'd like, and garnish with fresh mint leaves for a pop of color.
