In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey), breadcrumbs, grated carrot, chopped green onions, teriyaki sauce, egg, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, pepper, and sesame oil. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal. Transfer the meat mixture into the pan, pressing it down gently to shape it.
Brush a thin layer of teriyaki sauce generously over the top of the meatloaf for a flavorful glaze.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Halfway through baking, you may add another layer of teriyaki sauce for an extra glaze.
Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
Slice the meatloaf and serve it on plates. Drizzle additional teriyaki sauce over each slice as desired.
Garnish with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro for a vibrant touch.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with turkey.
