Ingredients

4 cups water

4 tablespoons Thai tea leaves

1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup evaporated milk

Ice cubes

Optional: crushed ice and a pinch of star anise for garnish

Instructions

In a saucepan, bring the water to a gentle boil over medium heat.

Add the Thai tea leaves to the boiling water and let it steep for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally for even flavor infusion.

Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the tea into a large bowl or pitcher using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, discarding the tea leaves.

While the tea is still warm, stir in the sugar until fully dissolved. Allow the tea to cool down to room temperature.

Once cooled, refrigerate the tea for at least 1 hour, or until chilled.

To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour the chilled Thai tea over the ice, filling the glass about two-thirds full.

Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk over the top of the tea. Stir gently before drinking to combine the layers.

For an extra touch, garnish with crushed ice and a pinch of star anise on top.
