Ingredients

1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup pizza sauce, plus extra for dipping

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup sliced pepperoni

1 cup diced bell peppers (any colors)

1/2 cup sliced black olives

1/2 cup diced red onion

1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Olives and red pepper flakes for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 12x16 inches. Make sure it’s evenly thick to ensure even cooking.

Spread the Sauce: Spread the pizza sauce evenly across the dough, leaving about an inch border on all sides.

        Layer the Fillings:

          - Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

            - Evenly layer the pepperoni, diced bell peppers, black olives, and red onion on top.

              - Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top of the vegetables.

                - Sprinkle the Italian seasoning and garlic powder evenly over the filling.

Roll the Stromboli: Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough tightly towards the other edge, ensuring the filling stays intact. Pinch the edges to seal and tuck the ends under to prevent any filling from escaping.

Prepare for Baking: Place the stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Cut a few diagonal slits on the top of the dough to allow steam to escape. Brush the top with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the stromboli is golden brown and cooked through.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the stromboli from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes. Slice into portions and serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
