Ingredients

1 cup rice paper sheets

2 tablespoons nutritional yeast

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari

1 tablespoon olive oil

Sea salt to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prep Rice Paper: Cut rice paper sheets into desired pork rind shapes or strips, generally 2x3 inches.

Make the Flavor Mixture: In a bowl, mix the nutritional yeast, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of sea salt.

Coat the Paper: Take the rice paper pieces and quickly dip them into a mixture of soy sauce and olive oil, ensuring they are coated but not soaked.

Season Them: Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the coated rice paper pieces evenly on both sides.

Bake: Place the seasoned rice paper on the lined baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, checking after 10 minutes to prevent burning. They should puff up and become golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes, they will continue to crisp up as they cool. Enjoy your vegan pork rinds with your favorite dip or snack them on their own!
