Ingredients

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup diced jalapenos (fresh or pickled)

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 package of wonton wrappers (about 30 wrappers)

1 egg, beaten (for sealing)

Oil for frying (optional)

Optional: Ranch dressing for dipping

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined and creamy.

Take a wonton wrapper and place it on a clean surface. Using your finger, brush a small amount of the beaten egg around the edges of the wrapper.

Spoon about 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of the jalapeno mixture into the center of the wonton wrapper.

Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges together to seal. Make sure there are no air pockets; press well to prevent opening during cooking. For added flair, you can crimp the edges using a fork.

Repeat the process with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling until everything is used up.

To cook, you have two options:

              - Frying: Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the wontons in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

                - Baking: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the wontons on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with a little oil, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until crispy and golden.

Once cooked, serve hot with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 4 (approx. 30 wontons)
