Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons black pepper

1 teaspoon sea salt

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch, flour, black pepper, sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and crushed red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.

Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the spice mixture. Let the shrimp sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Once the oil is hot, add the coated shrimp in a single layer (do not overcrowd the skillet). Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and crispy. You may need to do this in batches.

In the last minute of cooking, add the minced garlic into the skillet and stir to combine. This will infuse extra flavor into the shrimp.

Remove the shrimp from the skillet and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Transfer the shrimp to a serving plate and sprinkle with additional sea salt and fresh chopped green onions.

Serve hot with lime wedges on the side for an extra zing.
